It looks like the fix for firmware version reporting is not is version
0.15-rc4. It was committed after that. So I was wrong that it would
show the firmware version.
The current driver from Subversion should show the firmware version, but
it requires a 2.6.17-rc kernel due to massive changes in PCMCIA API.
It's hard to say whose fault it is. I believe it's a fault of the
driver not to show the firmware version if it's available. So the blame
is on the driver, and that's why the driver was fixed.
