I am interested to know are there any possibilities to modify the operation of
the card without having the possibility to make own firmwares for the card?
This is not possible without having the sources for the card's firmware.
It would be interesting to test different checksumm methods with streaming
media. But it is not bossible with the stock/original drivers. Is there any
card, and drivers, which supports this kind of modification? I might be wrong,
but I think that the checksum is handled by the firmware in some cases.
Here at this list were discussion about disabling the CRC during monitoring
mode. I am also interested to know, is it possible to disable the CRC from the
driver and still having the card operate like normally?
I did not exactly understood what is the purpose of your modification, except
having the corrupted packets to the upper layers. Then discovering where the
error(s) are in the frame, if it is possible.
