And I found, that:
a) under 7.something firmware monitor mode was probably on, but
incorrectly and even with kismet patches orinoco-usb driver didn't
work with kismet, airsnort, etc (apps using rtfmon mode);
b) under 8.72 firmware there is no way to enter monitor mode!!! Even
by hand via iwconfig....
Issue with unable to enter monitor mode on 8.x firmware is known and
please fix it - it is also on pcmcia card, not only usb. And pleae fix
support for monitor mode in usb driver...
