It's still on my todo list. But I haven't gotten around to it yet. Also
the site where you suggested I download firmwares from
ftp://ftp.orinocowireless.com/pub/software/ORiNOCO/PC_Card/Firmware/
does not seem to exist anymore, so I'll have to do some more hunting to
find the firmwares.

Is there anyway to extract the firmware from a orinoco gold/silver card
running under linux? We checked the firmware versions across our network
yesterday and our cards are running most versions between 6.16 and 8.72.
Unfortunately we have no way to upgrade any of the cards as they are all
in remote sites without windows machines handy.
