broken??

Not for me.

You didn't give the exact error message. I suppose you have a card with Agere firmware 8.xx. They work in monitor mode for some time but then the firmware stops receiving frames. The card may generate random errors or even cause an interrupt storm. In particular, changing the channel triggers the firmware bug, so AirSnort kills the card in a few seconds when in the channel scanning mode.

The patch by AirSnort resets the card every time the channel is changes. It still doesn't solve the problem completely. It just makes it more rare.

That's the reason why monitor mode was disabled for Agere 8.xx firmware. 6.16 firmware is working in monitor mode. I don't have a working Windows system to test 7.xx firmware (it detects all cards as MTD-0002 and I don't have time to reinstall it). If anybody can test 7.xx firmware it I'll appreciate it.

If monitor mode worked for you reliably in 0.15rc1, I'm interested to know what firmware version you are using. I can re-enable support for that version. Please post the kernel log starting from firmware detection. Please run CVS AirSnort with version 0.15rc1 in scanning mode and let is work for at least 5 minutes to see if it stops.

I've just added a warning to the driver that the monitor mode is disabled for some firmware versions.
