It looks more like a routing problem than a problem with the drivers.
Bringing eth0 down and up should not affect the driver for eth1, but it
can rearrange the routes in the routing table.

Please try to reproduce the problem to just one card, the one that uses
the Orinoco driver.  When the problem happens, please make sure that the
network settings are still correct (see "route" and "ifconfig" output).
Also run "iwconfig" to see if the card is still associated.

Please post the kernel log (it's printed by the "dmesg" command).  In
particular, I'm interested to see the messages from the driver when it
initializes the hardware and when you experience the problem.  Also please
post the "iwconfig" output.
