Sorry for false alarm. It was an a setting in Ethereal that I forgot to
unset. It was filtering out control frames for the IP address I was using
with orinoco but not with hostap.
It's still possible that some firmwares don't report control frames.
As a positive side effect, I've added hostap support for dump_srec, so
it's now possible to dump and compare RIDs under hostap and orinoco
drivers. Also, the new "--format" option for dump_srec can be used to
dump RIDs in the specified format.
