Subject: Re: full duplex audio

I'm 99% sure the ucb1400 supports full duplex, and the ac97 linux driver shouldn't have any problems with reading and writing at the same time (well, time-sliced). The driver yields to the scheduler while it's waiting for data on the ac97 link, so userspace apps will get the opportunity to keep the buffers full.

Greetings --

Here's an easy question that I can't seem to find much info about ...
can the gumstix handle full duplex audio? (in and out at the same time)

I'm working on a new design, but don't currently have an audiostix to
test full duplex with. If the gumstix can handle full duplex audio,
I'll then be willing to shell out the $$ for the necessary parts and
units. This design calls for simultaneous input and output of WAV data
(easily done in linux by reading and writing to /dev/sound) sent &
received in near real-time via a network connection.
