【Debian 计画领导人选举现况】 Manoj Srivastava [4]公告候选人提名时间将正式
结束。各候选人应于 02 月 15 日公开自己的[5]政见，并于 02 月 21 日提出反驳。
David B. Harris 和 Adam Heath 自愿安排预计于月底于 IRC 上举办的 DPL
辩论会相关事宜。一直到提名时间结束为止，[6]登记参加的候选人有 Moshe
Zadka、Bdale Garbee、Martin Michlmayr 和 Branden Robinson。

【分析 Debian 金钥资料库】 Lars Wirzenius 说他对 Debian 金钥资料库（Debian
keyrings，GnuPG 和 PGP）做了一些[7]分析。结果显示有 769 个金钥在所谓的
strongly connected set
中，也就是说，这些金钥经由相互的签署可以验证彼此。不过，他也[8]发现有 487
个金钥不在 strongly connected set 中。此外，Peter Palfrader 也提到他对
Debian 金钥资料库所做的[9]信任度分析（trust analysis）。

【循环式时间伺服器负载分担计画】 Adrian von Bidder [10]希望使用固定 IP
的人可以在机器上执行 ntpd 并经由 [11]time.fortytwo.ch 的 DNS 循环分配（DNS
round robin）提供给公众存取。这么做的原因是因为一些开放公众存取的时间伺服器
（如列在 ntp.org 中的）有负载过重的问题。稍后他[12]说他得到了数个正面的回应
，不过虽然部份属于 Debian 计画的机器上有执行 NTP 伺服器，这些机器的管理者并
没有回覆他。

【为什么有数个不同版本的 BerkeleyDB】 Will Lowe [13]质疑为何 Debian
中会有四个不同版本的 BerkeleyDB。如果同一个程式间接地连结到不同版本的
BerkeleyDB（例如经由 Apache、mod_perl、libberkeley-db-perl
这样的组合），会造成严重的问题。Matthew Wilcox
[14]解释说这是因为各版本的介面不相容，而且没有工具可以把现有的资料库转成旧
版的格式。

【将 mICQ 从 Debian 中移除？】 Martin Loschwitz [15]提议将 [16]mICQ 自
Debian 中移除，因为原作者在其中[17]藏了一段有害的程式（harmful easter
egg），用来让套件维护者制作的 mICQ 套件无法运作。Anthony Towns
[18]希望所有的套件维护者在制作新的套件前能先检视原作者改了些什么地方。Bran
den Robinson 支持这种想法，并指出他的确会[19]检视他制作的 XFree86
套件中所有更新的每一行程式码。后来 R?diger Kuhlmann
[20]回报这个问题已经解决，那段有问题□程式也被删除了。Martin Loschwitz

【第二轮更改 ITP】 Bas Zoetekouw [22]公告将 Intent To
Package（ITP）错误回报更改为 Request For
Packaging（RFP）第二轮的行动即将开始。早先他[23]试著和所有登录 ITP
的人联络，但仍有 143 个套件的登录人没有回覆。Luca DeVitis
[24]认为既然已经超过一年没有人制作这些套件，这表示可能没有人对那些套件有兴
趣，终止这些套件的 ITP 状态也许是较合适的做法。

【终止套件错误状态的方式】 Joey Hess [25]提醒开发人员 Changelog
档案中应该只描述套件内容的变更。大家不应该用『* This is not a bug -
closes: #XXX』来标示终止套件的错误状态，而应该把终止的描述寄给
XXX-done@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 来达成这个目的。这件事[26]以前就有人提过，
不过现在在[27]开发人员参考手册中对这些程序都有相当清楚的说明。

【Debian 于个案研讨中担纲】 Colm MacC嫫thaigh 和 Colin Whittaker 在
[28]SAGE-IE 上发表一篇以 Debian
为中心的[29]报告，探讨系统管理的良好做法。SAGE-IE 是系统管理者手册（System
Administrators Guild）的爱尔兰分支。报告中特别介绍了 Debian
健全的政策、一致性（consistency）、安全性及可靠性，并说明何以 Debian
于高可用性（high-availability）、低维护成本应用是极佳的选择。

【安全小组调查的结论】
去年由安全小组所做的[30]调查，[31]结论终于出炉了。最引人注意的（或者说，最
糟的状况）是有一位朋友管理约 4000 台使用 potato
的机器，而且这些机器不能随意进行升级。不过大体上来说，使用 Debian
的管理者都打算使用旧的 stable，直到新的 stable
发行约一年以后，才会进行升级的动作。因此，安全小组将尽力于 2003
年六月底前支援 potato。

【Desktop Linux Summit 上的 Debian】 Debian 发表[32]声明表示将参与下周于
San Diego 举行的 [33]Desktop Linux

依然决定参展，并于展示区拥有一个摊位。Bdale Garbee

【著手制作 OpenLDAP 2.1 套件】 因为现有的 OpenLDAP 2.0 在支援 TLS

Debian 套件档案库。他建议将这些套件依语系集中存放在 /doc/ 中各语系的子目录

部份，所以看起来这是不可能实现的。

【授权证和著作权？】 Antoine Mathys
[39]询问授权证（license）和著作权（copyright）到底有什么不同。Sean Perry
[40]解译说授权证是描述授与及保留权利的文件。Branden Robinson
更进一步[41]说明著作权是法律上的概念，授与作者（可转让）对其创作所独有的复
制、修改及发表的权利。

【Debian Zaurus 现况】 Matt Zimmerman 发表 Debian 用于各式手持式系统特别是
Zaurus 的[42]现况。他简短说明已经完成的工作以及此刻开发工作进行到什么阶段。
举例来说，[43]Opie套件的开发进行得相当顺利，并且正准备要进入 Debian unstable
