ever use scim anyone?

Hi everyone,
        In the effort of utf8izing everything in my computer, I came
across something called scim. (Smart Common Input Method)

http://www.gnuchina.org/~suzhe/scim/

anyone has any experience with it?  I can't really read simplified
chinese.  So don't exactly know what it is.
