Please don't tell my alpha that gcc 4.1 is not capable to build the
linux kernel:

alf:/etc# cat /proc/version 
Linux version 2.6.17.11 (root@alf) (gcc version 4.1.2 20060814 (prerelease)

alf:/etc# uptime

It's naively running that kernel just fine now :-)
