Alternatives leverage the conflictuality of vim flavors Playing with vim-full a bit more I realized that only one GUI could be compiled in. Sorry, this was not clear to me: I assumed that there was possible to pass command line options to decide which GUI to run. Thus, what I'm proposing for sarge is: - vim-full variant with support for gnome GUI and all interpreters I built the package, a comparison of sizes (on amd64) follows: .deb size installed size RSS vim-python 804872 1724 6708 vim-full 835316 1792 9660 For post-sarge I think that something similar could be still interesting. Indeed is possible that people want support for all interpreters on all possible GUIs, but gnome is likely to be the most widespread one. I can commit may changes if accepted.
