Re: (forw) The debian-l10n-korean and debian-l10n-arabic have been created: msg#00074linux.debian.internationalization.general
Quoting Denis Barbier (barbier@xxxxxxxxxxx): > This topic can be discussed here on debian-i18n. Looks like Denis and I share point of views here..:-) For Lior, one argument "against" (or temporarily against) a dedicated -bidi list is that indeed specific problems of RTL languages probably need to be quite widely exposed rather than kept in a kind of very specialised area (another word came to my mind but would have sounded offensive, I'm afraid, and the last thing I want is hurting people's feeling). I think that all people involved in i18n and l10n must be aware of RTL specificities just like they have to be aware of the specific issues of languages such as CJK (Chinese-Japanese-Korean). -i18n needs to keep this "gathering point" behaviour. The use of subject markers can be encouraged for this, of course, such as "[RTL]" or "[BIDI]" or whatever appropriate. |
