That's a limitation of nsgmls, most likely harmless, but I don't recall the
exact details. No time now, but I can find out, or, you can try to use the
newer program, onsgmls, provided by the opensp package. It will definitely
not give you that warning, but it is slower. I use nsgmls with DocBook XML
4.2 all the time, and have not noticed any ill effects.
