at the LAU, as I promised one day to someone, I've contributed to begin a site to collect "sound card blogs" about user's experiences in linux with these cards. I have started writting one page about the Audigy; talking about "best JACK configurations", "how to get your soundfonts to work" and other issues that are commonly asked on the lists. It's quite simple and it's just starting but I think it can be useful for DeMUDI's users in the future. I'll welcome any ideas about how to improve it, or opinions (is it really useful?), or contributions... I forward it: -------- Missatge original -------- Assumpte: sound card linux documentation wiki+forum site [WAS: Linux audio hardwarem arket research [was: creating a wiki "soundcard experiences" site]] Data: Tue, 30 Nov 2004 19:00:33 +0100 De: MarC <marc_contrib@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Respon a: marc_contrib@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx A: A list for linux audio users <linux-audio-user@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Referències: <1101345220.26762.14.camel@Gentoo> <41A851B7.7070600@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> <1101559422.26682.18.camel@Gentoo> <200411271614.12925.j4strngs@xxxxxxxxxxx> <1101646370.17958.37.camel@Gentoo> <41A976A1.EDD@xxxxxxxx> <Pine.LNX.4.60.0411282252300.930@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> well think that now we already have all the ingredients http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/index.php?cat=23 is a great forum to post questions, problems etc Thanks Jeremy! at the LAU we can continue talking about soundcards as usually and we could sum up all the conclusions at the wiki: http://twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/Wikilearn/LA_LinuxAudio (a list of all soundcards, and a site for each soundcard) Thanks Randy! I've started creating one site for my card, the Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy OEM, http://twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/Wikilearn/LA_SoundBlasterAudigy by the way, Randy, could you change the name of it (adapt it to CreativeLabsSoundBlasterAudgy OEM)?? how about creating sites for the RME supported cards? XD same for usb cards, firewire cards... That could be a way to see the *real* linux support of your card, by reading experiences of other people and how they work everyday. Finally, I wouldn't like to create redundance, so I'll suggest to use links more than post new documentation. I've already created links to ALSA, OSS, and http://www.djcj.org/LAU/guide/index.php Register at TWiki and contribute. I'm sure you can do it better than me! Don not talk *so much* and do smth ;) Cheers, MarC En/na Jeremy ha escrit: On Sun, 28 Nov 2004, Ruth A. Kramer wrote: |
