ALSA: How to supply iec958 (SPDIF) to OSS ?

With DeMuDi 1.2.0 I'm trying to use a Terratec EWX
24/96
(ice1712), especially the SPDIF input.

arecord -D iec958 ... works great.

But, in OSS the only recording device is /dev/dsp, the
hw capture + playback. There is no OSS device for
reading from SPDIF. (Which I suppose would be needed
for audacity and similar programs.)

How to supply iec958 (SPDIF) to OSS ?
