No, you don't, sorry, mental aberration there. You can pick up a copy from: http://alsa.opensrc.org/index.php?page=aadebug The rest of the site is well worth browsing too. > cat /proc/asound/cards tells the following: > 0 [YMF724 ]: YMF724 - Yamaha DS-XG (YMF724) > Yamaha DS-XG (YMF724) at 0xfedf0000, irq 10 > > (thats a PCI card with a joystick/midi port). Am I wrong, and actually need to install to > harddrive? Basically, yes, this is the case. It's an awful lot less brain strain to install A/DeMuDi-1.2.0 to hard drive (Don't use the Knoppix version for installation, it's fraught with future problems). 1.2.0 installs in under an hour, if the liveCD boots ok, you should have no problems with the 1.2.0 installer. It will probably take the rest of the week to configure it all the way you want it. You will find it considerably more rewarding than fiddling around with the 1.1.1 LiveCD. cheers tim hall http://glastonburymusic.org.uk |
