your email clients set up like this.
It's really handy for me and probably others if you respond to previous
mailings with the 'reply' button and thereby keeping the title (and thread)
intact, this makes it easy to look back at the previous mails on the subject
and remember what you were on about. Similarly it would be really good to
start a new mail for all new subjects and not randomly jump in on existing
threads with a new topic of discussion.
I realise that this is all part of the learning curve and something you
probably haven't figured yet. So, no biggie. It would really help me in being
able to give constructive advice, I'm on several mailing lists and don't
always have time to figure out where the previous mailing on the subject got
to.

I second the sentiment. Perhaps when a person joins the list the
confirmation email could include a short guide to list etiquette.
