i did that, but the link to kernel.h is broken (i checked it manually).
why are there broken links in my kernel-haeders? do i need to reinstall
headers or how do i repare them?

You could try doing a re-install or better an apt-get --purge remove
kernel-headers-x.x.x and then install again. If the problem persists
then this looks like a bug. I assume that you didn't get any error
messages when you installed the kernel-headers. And you have 2
kernel-header packages, e.g. on mine I have
kernel-headers-2.4.25-multimedia and kernel-headers-2.4.25-1-multimedia-k7
