e2fsck problem: (Bad address) while doing inode scan: msg#00198

lib.uclibc.general

Subject: e2fsck problem: (Bad address) while doing inode scan

uclibc-0.9.19
e2fsprogs-1.32
linux-2.2.19

I have no problems running with e2fsck compiled against libc5; when trying
uclibc I get

e2fsck -fy /dev/hda3 (and hda4, it's ok on hda2)
..
..

Error writing block 2097170 (Bad address) while doing inode scan. Ignore
error <y>
and so on for every single following block.

The starting number is the same for hda3 and hda4

I'm trying to e2fsck a vmware linux partition, and roll-back at every try,
so I'm sure e2fsck/libc5 gets the very same stuff to works on.

Is this symptom of some miscompilation?

Thanks
