One question on your setup: Do you call libdc1394 yourself or do you  
use HighGUI configured with libdc1394?

Didn't try myself, but it is meant to work together ... May be you  
should contact the authors of cvcap_dc1394.cpp directly (email  
addresses are given in the source code).
