Hi Stefan,

You may need the Lib1394 camera driver the firewire camera is IIDC
compliant.  Try using a capture program such as Coriander (google for it, or
see sourceforge) to see if *something* will talk to it under Linux.

Hello,
I have Problems, to get a capture from a firewire Cam under Linux

CvCapture *cap;
  cap = cvCaptureFromCAM(-1);

  if (cap == NULL) cout << "Error Capture" << endl;

The return value of the function cvgetCaptureFormCAM is always NULL.
I am not a linux expert. Do I need special driver or libs, which I have to 
link in openCV.
