So, it's ok.

I have for different cams:
1. Logitech QuickCam 5000 Pro
2. Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks Pro (new version)
3. Logitech QuickCam Fusion
4. Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks Pro (old version)
Cams 1, 2 and 3 are working with linux-uvc, and cam 4 with pwc
(http://www.saillard.org/linux/pwc/).

All are working with OpenCV. I have just tested camshiftdemo C sample
and the cam-histo.py Python sample. All cams are working with them.
Sometime, with linux-uvc, I have errors like:
VIDIOC_QUERYCTRL: Input/output error
or
HIGHGUI ERROR: V4L2: Unable to set palette.
when starting the application, but re-starting the demo corrects the
problem.

Yes. I have used it also when I have patched OpenCV for supporting
linux-uvc.

No. I have swig and Python, but not quicktime.
(I'm using almost only Python with OpenCV, but this is another thing ;-)
)

Thanks in advance. Please try to start many times the application to see
if this is a possible work-around.

Hope this help.
