server changes: msg#00076

Subject: server changes
Copying a snippet out of another thread and moving it to a new one...

> This is IMHO one of the top reasons to move to Subversion (there
are of course tons of other reasons) when Creative can finally fund a new
server, which might even break the 1GHz barrier... ;-) Garin: What's the
status on this?

It's still the plan to move to Subversion and update all the services early (_very_ early) next year. The holdup has never been funding, but timing. December just works out to be an excellent month to start getting the transition going, because our SDKs are all out the door and things otherwise are slowing down for the holidays.

We may not break the 1GHz barrier with this server, but I think I can guarantee at least _twice_ the computational horsepower of our current 200MHz Pentium/64MB RAM workhorse which has served us so well for the last five years. We're almost _guaranteed_ to make it over 1000 BogoMIPS on this one... Woohoo! Feel the power.

Garin
