Plans? - Multiple Listeners: msg#00006

Subject: Plans? - Multiple Listeners
I was wondering if there were any development plans for the future that include modifying the OpenAL system to handle multiple listeners instead of just one. There have been discussions about compatibility with consoles such as the x-box, but OpenAL lacks a feature that most console games use currently. When playing in split-screen mode, the audio will be rendered from the locations of each of the players. I'm not sure if it is correct to then mix this audio or pipe different listeners to different speakers. On the new X-box systems it is configurable what audio comes out of your x-box live headset (if you use one) which means that each player could even have their own set of speakers (headsets). The details are not really important at the moment. I was just curious if there were plans for developing this feature in the future or not and if so, what the time line was.

Thanks.
