alut linux for AL 1.1: msg#00000

Subject: alut linux for AL 1.1
I just got around to looking at resolving the alut-backwards- compatability issue for 1.1, and discovered that Ryan checked-in Linux changes about a month ago which resolved the compatibility issue for alut under 1.1. The Linux code now compiles with and seems to work fine with the current global headers.

So, what I need to ask is -- do we keep things as they now are, or should I regress the alut functions back to the way they were for 1.0 so that we'll keep backwards compatibility on the Linux and MacOS platforms where alut is included in the AL library?

If we need to regress, I can do that, but I figured it would be best to check in with you guys first...
