Hello All, I am atempting to reinstall GNUstep using the snapshot created on 06142002. After I install GNUstep and attempt to make a simple GNUstep app like CurrencyConverter.app it fails and leaves a core file. The examination of the core file gives the following. (gdb) core-file core Core was generated by `plmerge CurrencyConverter.app/Resources/Info-gnustep.plist CurrencyConverterInf'. Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault. #0 0x4016bb44 in ?? () I don't know if this helps but if I execute plmerge using the plmerge command it seg faults as well. I am using GCC 2.96. There never was an official gcc 2.96 release, and in many cases, this release was broken. You might try another compiler version -- Adam Fedor, Digital Optics Corp. | I'm glad I hate spinach, because http://www.doc.com | if I didn't, I'd eat it, and you | know how I hate the stuff.

I was starting to get used to the development tools and applications. So I really miss my GNUstep. It's possible you have a broken make. Next Message by Date:Installing GNUstep on i686-pc-linux-gnu (SuSE 7.3)Hi all, I'm trying to get the GNUstep system working on my PC, in order to update my NeXTStep skills/try things out in readiness for MacOS X/develop Linux software. I followed the steps in the GNUstep-HOWTO (including sourcing GNUstep.sh and setting ~/.profile to do so, configuring the timezone with defaults, and setting up the daemons), but found that this still did not install the Foundation/ library. On trying to build the extensions-0.8.6 source (with gcc 3.0.4 and GNU make 3.79.1) I get: PrintfScannerHandler.m: In function `-[PrintfScannerHandler convertChar:scanner: ]': PrintfScannerHandler.m:73: `char' is promoted to `int' when passed through `...' PrintfScannerHandler.m:73: (so you should pass `int' not `char' to `va_arg') Also, when trying to build gnustep-back 0.7.8, I find: GSContext.m: At top level: GSContext.m:348: parse error before "GSTextDrawingMode" GSContext.m:363: parse error nefore "NSGlyph" Any ideas how to continue from here? I'm new to the whole *step world and getting GNUstep to work would not only be a great benefit, it would also be very satisfying :-) Thanks, Graham. -- Graham Lee Wadham College, OX1 3PN Previous Message by Thread:PLMERGE Seg FaultsHello All, I am atempting to reinstall GNUstep using the snapshot created on 06142002.
