Tricky. It's a CSS thing. Blurbs are actually a big table cells, whereas programlistings are not tables at all. I made a small tweak which, though not perfect, makes the problem much less pronounced.

I made the same tweak in doc/html/boostbook.css and in tools/quickbook/doc/html/boostbook.css.
