I'm sure CVSTProj works well for Dolphin, VW, etc, which already have good notions of modularity. In Squeak, however, CVST relies on changesets to define packages, which is (in my experience) a fragile and frustrating way of managing code. This was one major impetus behind developing DVS instead of working on CVSTProj (the other was that I was curious to try an approach that I have since abandoned, of translating unified diffs from CVS into Squeak changesets - the D in DVS stood for Diff-based).
