If it isn't possible on the rubyforge page I could set up Instiki on my webserver.

I'm still in favor of something like BufferedStatementHandle. It could be realized without changing too much in the DBDs and would cause practically no overhead.

yes, good idea (need some more thoughts)... but that would require a
major DBI change. we should collect more ideas before doing such a "big"
step.
