Uninstalling gems from custom gem directory: msg#00008

Subject:	Uninstalling gems from custom gem directory

Hello

In my merb applications, I install gems in the ./gems directory with
the '-i' option.
How would I remove or update gems in custom install directories?

Is it ok to just remove the specific gem, or will that confuse the cache file?
