There's a great quote from an Alaskan mountaineering site:
don't plan on being lucky
Don't plan on people's cvs log messages becoming predictable!
My SRV record patch for resolv.rb, for example, wasn't a doc patch, it
added a new record. It doesn't say in the cvs log that I put rdoc
comments on top, but I did, making them the only rdoc comments in all of
resolv.rb.
And the #sleep patch was just bundled in with a huge commit.
