I've not heard anything. Last I checked there's a good deal of space and
bandwidth.
I have no problem hosting both formats, but I agree with the assessment
regarding recent versions of winzip supporting tar/tgz. Suporting zip
may be like building a web site for NN4: why bother, unless you alienate
some significant number of people.
Since it adds overhead to the upload process, I say drop the zip version.
