::sigh:: I get enough duplication committing documentation to the
trunk and the 1.8 branch :(   (Ah, it's not *too* bad :)

I've never looked at the other repositories, and had long since
forgotten about them.  The integrated test framework appears to be
going well; it receives frequent commits.  I've never really looked at
it; could be a source of examples for documentation.
