Authentication Realm Prompt Problem

Well, I'm pulling my hair out with this.  A deploy that worked fine
one day doesn't work today.  Here is my problem...

* executing `deploy:update_code'
Authentication realm: <https://*****.********.com:443> ***************
Username: ********
Password for 'deploy':  ********

but then I just get this....

 ** [err] Authentication realm: <https://****.*******.com:443>
***********
 ** [err] Username:

Of course, I can't enter anything at that point and the deploy fails
and leaves an SVN process running on the server.

I have tried everything.  Any suggestions?
