Also demonstrably false, since I've got several apps that use them 
quite nicely, and a number of others do too.

But as to Frank's question, it does seem that you've found a bug in 
5.2.4.  I think this has already been reported, but I encourage you 
to check on that and help us make sure it gets fixed for 5.5.
