As for your efforts, nothing is automatic in KWiki. You have to edit
the CodeSamples page yourself to add the link to your sample. (Did
you expect the software to figure out that you wanted a link there?
Or that someone else would notice your contribution and figure out
what it was for and where to link it for you? Perhaps you sent mail
to Jouke about it... ) But before you do that, note well the
admonition on the Home Page about creating a userid for yourself
before making changes.

OK, so I created the ID. I returned to the Samples page, searched for my
Downloadwithprogress page and, yes, it was floating out there in
wikispace.

So I edited the CodeSamples page, which looked like this:

* AndJusticeForAll
* MinimalDocView
* SubclassingXRC An easy way to customize widgets included in an
XmlResource

Well, that looks easy, just add the name of my page, me thinks:

* Downloadwithprogress Web download with progress dialog

And here I am feeling stupid again because where all the other names are
automatically converted into links, mine isn't. Well, you did warn me
that nothing was automatic ;)

No, I have no previous experience with Wiki's but I always assumed they
would be intuitive... :(

Perhaps a WxWikiForDummiesLikePeter page would be a good idea?

Regards,
Peter

I see that you figured it out, which is good, and then documented it, which is even better. I've taken the liberty of adding a note on the Home Page under "Help, Preferences, and Commands" pointing to it; another frustrated soul might miss it in the "top level pages" list.

John Ralls
