Why is DocView disabled on Mac?

I discovered that DocView is disabled on Mac OS X in the 0.21 release
(" NO_WX_PLATFORMS => [ 'mac' ], " in ext/docview/Makefile.PL). Is
there a specific reason for this? I removed that statement and it
compiles just fine for me. I actually use it in one of my
applications.
