NoteBook: background color

Hi all,

I have a question concerning the Tk::NoteBook widget:

If I set the background color with the -background option,
only the background of the active tab and a narrow band
below it are set.
The backgrounds of
  - the inactive tab
  - the empty area at the right side of the tabs above the pages
  - the pages
are not set.

I can set the background of the pages, when I process the
children of the NoteBook widget, but I can't set the background
of the inactive tabs and the empty area to the right of the
tabs.

Can someone tell me, how to do this (if it's possible at all)?

I already tried to dig into the module, but traces soon vanish
in the guts of Tk and the NBFrame module, which only bootstraps
some things, which is where my expertise ends :-(
