Error from utf8.pm when using the Bleach filter (PAR 0.85)

Dear PARers,

We get the following errors when we try to run a binary (my_binary) that
was created with PAR and a Bleach filter:

utf8.pm did not return a true value at (eval 14) line 2.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at (eval 14) line 2.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at (eval 13) line 149.
Compilation failed in require at (eval 12) line 10.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at (eval 12) line 10.
Compilation failed in require at (eval 11) line 25.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at (eval 11) line 25.
Compilation failed in require at (eval 10) line 10.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at (eval 10) line 10.

The binary my_binary was created as follows:

pp -v -M Log::Dispatch::File \
      -M Log::Dispatch::Screen \
      -M PerlIO \
      -o my_binary
      -f Bleach \
      -F Bleach \
      my_perl.pl

The Perl version is 5.8.0 on HP-UX 11.23 IA-64. The PAR version is 0.85
(compiled with gcc 3.3.2).
A binary built without the -f Bleach -F Bleach pp parameters runs
without any problems.

Any ideas?
