bah, nevermind. Those just don't quite come across the right way =).
Maybe something in the Probe:: namespace?
Probe::Perl
Probe::MyPerl
"Probe" seems a little tentative. How about the straightforward:
Find::Perl
The Probe:: namespace was suggested as a place for Configure-like
modules in one of the CPLAN meetings accourding to some material that
used to be available on the web. The page is gone now, but that's why I
suggested it. I didn't like it at first, but it's grown on me, and it
seems perlish. Probe::Perl, nice alliteration too.
I was thinking about moving the run_perl_* stuff in there also (which
would also include the ancillary methods split_like_shell), but that
might blow the abstraction. Locating the perl executable is only vaguely
related to executing it. I'm having trouble deciding if it fits or not.
Randy.
