I understand Julian's interest in a parallel to installbin, but it
seems that this might make it hard to have two versions of Perl on one
computer, unless those .so and .a files were independent of Perl (read:
DLL hell). And if they are indeed independent of Perl, wouldn't it be
better to package them via some method other than Mod::Build?
Specifically, I prefer my .so files to be managed by Fink so I can
apt-get them.
