Getting segmentation faults

While trying to do a search search that will return over 500,000
entries, I am getting segmentation faults.

Searches returning fewer results are okay (say 200,000-300,000 entries).

I am connecting to a Novell eDirectory 8.7.3 server running on RedHat
Enterprise Linux 3 ES with perl version 5.8.0 and perl-ldap 0.34.  The
Perl program runs from the same server.  The perl program grows to over
2500MB in memory, then crashes.

I know this is a bit vague, so please let me know what more would be
needed in terms of information.
