FYI,

sh ./Configure -ds -e -Dprefix=/usr -Dccflags="-g -pipe" 
-Dldflags=-Dman3ext=3pm -Duseithreads -Duseshrplib

This would make your new perl compatible with /usr/bin/perl5.8.1,
if you want to use PerlObjCBridge, it is required to do so.
(Please notice that prefix=/usr, so it would install to /usr/bin/perl)

Since perl5.8.6's hints/darwin.sh already applied the one-line patch
in dports, no extra manual patch is required.
