I've been working on a filter for CPAN's uploads.rdf feed. Basically it
fetches the RDF from search.cpan.org or reads it from standard input,
and adds the changelog to the item descriptions if available.
It doesn't answer your question, but you should suggest to Graham to add
the Change{s,Log} link to the regular feed.
Then your filter wouldn't be needed and everyone could get the feature.
I think it'd be useful.
One thing that'd be useful to have a small module for would be parsing
the Changes files and show just the changes in the last version. It'd
be a bit of work to make (does the file go backwards or forwards? How
are the versions separated? etc etc), but it should be doable to get it
to work for 90% of the CPAN distributions.
If you made such a module, then Graham could use it to put the changes
for the current version in the RSS feed. :-)
(And I could use it for the "Subscribe to notifications for new CPAN
modules from (@author,@distributions)" site I've never gotten around to
finishing). One of the missing pieces is, of course, a module to do the
Change{s,Log} parsing. :-)
