The VisAD component library is available.  Unfortunately on MacOS X 
there is no Java3D yet (please lobby for this...please), but you can 
still use this with Java2D which has some performance issues when 
dealing with texture maps.

We continue to add methods to better interface Jython with the VisAD 
library for our researchers (hyperspectral satellite data) and others.
