japplets and 'Java Applet Window' titlebar, can it be turned off

I have an JApplet which needs to display a lot of information in a JFrame.
I need every mm of screen space neccessary.
Yet when starting I get Java Applet Window title bar at the top of  the 
applet window.
Can I turn this off.
