Apps like watir that depend on Win32OLE are waiting for someone to wire 
in e.g. the Jacob Java/COM library. I don't think it would be hard to 
do, but it's not a high priority at the moment.

Feel like giving it a try? You could just do it through Java integration 
right now and probably get it 90% done.
