Thanks Nick. From what I've gathered about the jruby / java integration, the basic bridge back and forth is there now, but for the kind of interoperable class hierarchy stuff, that's being worked on for the next major release. Looks like I should hold off for now on jxpath or write something in java more specifically to my needs.
