As John said, JET does support dynamic compilation. In any case, the
compilation also worked when the global optimizer is off. The problem is
probably the global optimizer optimizing something away.

It sure does...used it quite a bit in the past (long time ago, but I believe
that capability was required by Hibernate). See here
